James "Sawyer" Ford:
A southern con artist, who took the name "Sawyer",
the name of the man that caused his father to kill his mother
and then commit suicide. Sawyer has a love interest in Kate
and is generally disliked by the other survivors, especially
after seizing their guns and proclaiming himself the "new
sherrif in town".

Katherine "Kate" Austen:
After killing the man that was sleeping with her mother,
Kate became a fugitive. She was on the run in Australia
when she was captured and taken aboard flight 815 by the
law.

Boone Carlyle (DECEASED):
Was in Australia to help his step-sister, Shannon, and get
her out of an abusive relationship. Died while helping Locke
investigate some mysterious plane wreckage on the island.

Shannon Rutherford (DECEASED):
Boone's step-sister was scammed by her boyfriend and was
heading back to LA from Australia with her brother. Shannon
was Sayid's love interest on the island. She was killed
by Ana Lucia who mistook her as a threat in the jungle.

Jack Shepard:
A spinal surgeon who was in Australia looking for his father,
the chief of surgery, whom had just lost his job due to
malpractice. Jack was transporting his body back to LA.
Jack is considered the "man of science" and the
default leader on the island.

Hugo "Hurley" Reyes:
Won a massive winning in the lottery after playing a set
of mysterious "numbers" he overheard at a mental
hospital he was at. The numbers seemingly bring bad luck
to those around Hurley, who was returning from Australia
after an investigation into the numbers.

Claire Littleton:
A psychic convinced Australian Claire to give up her baby
for adoption to a family in LA. Claire was kidnapped by
"the Others" but escaped. She later learned this
was through the help of Danielle Rousseau, and has regained
much of her memory from her time in captivity. She has since
had her baby, Aaron.

Charlie Pace:
Singer and bassist in the british rock band Drive Shaft,
alongside his brother Liam. Charlie appears harmless and
friendly, but is battling a heroin addiction and visions.
He is currently being shunned by a large portion of the
survivors who find him a menace - though he is infatuated
with Claire.

John Locke:
Was in Australia to take a "walkabout" tour, which
didn't happen due to his being confined to a wheelchair.
After the crash, Locke mysteriously regained his ability
to walk. Locke is considered the "man of faith"
and is the hunter and tracker on the island.

Jin-Soo Kwon:
Jin was on a business trip, delivering expensive watches
for Sun's father (whom he works for). Jin speaks almost
no english, and was aboard the raft attempt to leave the
island after a falling out with his wife.

Sun-Soo Paik Kwon:
Sun is wife to Jin. Although she is also Korean, she speaks
English very well (which her husband was unaware of before
the crash). Sun is also adept at crafting traditional medicines.

Sayid Jarrah:
A member of the Republican Guard in Iraq before being forced
to work with the CIA during Desert Storm, as a torturer.
He was flying to LA to find his love interest, Nadia. Sayid
was in love with Shannon when she was shot.

Michael Dawson:
After a bitter seperation from his wife, who died in Australia
shortly thereafter, he regains responsability with his son
Walt, whom he was bringing back to NY. Michael was aboard
the raft attempt to leave the island.

Walter "Walt" Lloyd-Porter:
Lived in Australia with his mother when she passed away,
and was travelling back to NY with his father Michael when
the plane crashed. Walt seems to have some mysterious and
uncanny ability to conjure animals.

Survivors
(Tail Section): |

Mr. Eko
As a boy in Africa, Eko was forced to kill the priest in
his village. He was kidnapped by and grew up amongst warlords
after that event. Later, he became one of them, and organized
a drug run which went wrong - killing his younger brother.

Ana Lucia Cortez (DECEASED):
A police officer who deliberately shot a man. Ana Lucia
took control of the group of tail section survivor's on
the island. She also mistakenly shot and killed Shannon.
Jack has asked her to help him build up an army, in anticipation
of a confrontation with "the Others".

Libby (DECEASED):
A self-professed psychologist and one of the tail section
survivors. She helped Claire to discover some of her lost
memory, and has become the love interest of Hurley. Libby
spent time in a mental hospital - as a patient.

Islanders: |

Desmond:
Jack initially met Desmond during a late night jog in LA.
Desmond then appeared inside the hatch, saying he was on
a race around the world when he became deserted on the island
and took over as a custodian of the "button",
a computer counter which needs to be reset every 108 minutes.
Nobody knows what will happen if the button isn't pushed.
Desmond took off into the jungle and is presumably still
located somewhere on the island.

Danielle Rousseau:
A mysterious French woman found by Sayid. She has apparently
been living on the island for 16 years, and was part of
a larger group - all of whom were killed. She broadcast
a distress signal that the survivors picked up on the first
day. She also lost her infant daughter, Alex, and is familiar
with The Black Rock and The Others.

Alexandra "Alex" Rousseau:
Nothing is known about Alex, other than the fact that Danielle
gave birth to her a few weeks after her crash. This would
mean she's roughly 16 years old now. Claire believes the
girl that helped her escape the Dharma facility was Alex
Rousseau, and the same girl is referred to by Mr. Friendly
as "Alex".

Ethan Rom (DECEASED):
The mysterious Ethan abducted Claire and tied up Charlie
after he infiltrated the survivor's group. Charlie killed
him after Jack, Locke, Sayid, Kate, and Sawyer tracked him
down. It's unclear whether he's on of "the others"
or not.

Goodwin (DECEASED):
Goodwin appeared on the beach just after the tail
section crashed, and Ana Lucia became suspicious of him
during a hike in which they were going to test a radio.
Goodwin admitted to being part of the group that attacked
and took the children from the tail section survivors, and
was killed by Ana Lucia.

Zeke/Mr. Friendly:
Though nobody knows his real name, Zeke seems to lead "the
Others". He was on the power boat that took Walt, and
he ambushed the hunting part (Jack, Sawyer, Locke) while
they were out looking for Michael. He warned them to mind
their own business, took their weapons, and seemed to know
a lot about the survivors. He showed up in Claire's flashback
wearing clean clothes and without beard or moustache.

Henry Gale:
Captured by Danielle in the jungle, and given to Sayid and
the survivors, Henry Gale claims to have crashed his balloon
on the island during a trip he and his wife were taking. According
to Gale, his wife died after becoming "sick", but
it was discovered that he was, in fact, one of "the others"
and has assumed the identity of a balloon adventurer who crashed
and died on the island. He escaped the Lostaways with the
help of Michael.
